Fox(NEW YORK) -- Stan Lee is the legendary co-creator of classic Marvel comic characters like Spider-Man, Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk and the Fantastic Four. The most recent version of the latter flopped miserably at the box office when it debuted a few weeks ago. So does Lee know why?

"Well, it was probably because I didn't have a cameo in it," he quipped during a recent interview on Larry King Now on the online portal Ora TV.

Lee traditionally has a cameo in every film based on a Marvel character.

Lee also said he wasn't consulted on the story.

Lee added that he has yet to see the film. "I don't run to see anything...I just get there eventually," he explained.

Fantastic Four, starring Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell, is out now.

Buena Vista(NEW YORK) -- It might as well be Christmas for Star Wars fans, although there’s no tree.  There are, however, plenty of presents as the world's first live, global toy unboxing event is underway to promote Friday's release ofStar Wars: The Force Awakens toys.  The movie opens in December.

The rolling event moves from time zone to time zone today, beginning earlier this morning in Sydney, Australia.  It’ll cover 12 countries and 15 cities in all when it’s done, after which all of them will go on sale at midnight -- or Force Friday, as it’s being called.

We did say it was live: you can watch it now on the official Star Wars YouTube live stream.  You can also livechat as you watch, and see what Star Wars fans from around the world are saying, in real time.

Stars Wars is owned by Disney, which owns ABC News.

Sony(LOS ANGELES) -- Sony Pictures says reports that it "softened" the upcoming film Concussion starring Will Smith to satisfy the NFL are incorrect.

According to VanityFair.com, the company is refuting a story in the New York Times stating that emails discovered during the hacking of the Sony corporate website last year revealed that the film was watered down to avoid protests from the National Football League.

“Today's New York Times article and headline, written by individuals who have not seen the film, contains many misleading inferences," the statement read. "As will become immediately clear to anyone actually seeing the movie, nothing with regard to this important story has been 'softened' to placate anyone."

The film stars Smith as forensic pathologist Dr. Bennet Omalu, who discovered that concussions in pro football can cause depression, dementia and other behavioral changes in football players. His work drew attention after some former NFL players, including Hall of Famer Junior Seau, committed suicide.

Sony describes the film as "a dramatic thriller based on the incredible true David vs. Goliath story of American immigrant Dr. Bennet Omalu, the brilliant forensic neuropathologist who made the first discovery of CTE, a football-related brain trauma, in a pro player and fought for the truth to be known. Omalu’s emotional quest puts him at dangerous odds with one of the most powerful institutions in the world."

Concussion will open December 23.

ABC/Adam Taylor(NEW YORK) -- Julianne Hough can't stop talking about her engagement to hockey player Brooks Laich earlier this month, but she's not ready to discuss the big day just yet.

"We're just enjoying our engagement," the former Dancing with the Stars pro tells E! News. "I think right now we're just enjoying that part. We really enjoy our stages. I think we enjoyed the dating stage and being engaged, so I think we like to enjoy each stage."

In the meantime, Hough, 27, has been gushing over her massive engagement ring. In a recent blog post she writes, "The ring itself makes me feel very feminine and takes my breath away every time I look down, which I can’t stop doing, by the way."

"When it comes to taking it off, forget it. I’ll even wake up in the middle of the night to make sure it’s still there!" she continues. "I never thought I’d be the girl sticking her hand out to her friends and screaming in unison but here I am, shrieking all over Los Angeles."

Hough announced her engagement to Laich, 32, on Instagram a couple of weeks ago. The two have been dating since last December.

Eric Liebowitz/NBC(NEW YORK) -- Wednesday night's installment of NBC’s America’s Got Talent saw five of the 11 acts that performed on Tuesday's show moving on to the finals.

Judges Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel, along with host Nick Cannon, were on hand for the live event airing from New York's Radio City Music Hall to learn which acts America had selected to advance for a chance at the $1 million top prize.

Also back this week was the “Dunkin’ Save," which allowed viewers to vote live to save an act in danger of elimination. They were instructed to search "Dunkin’ Save" on Google and select one of the three acts with the lowest vote totals that they wanted to see in the finals.

Magician Derek Hughes, mentalist Oz Pearlman, stuttering comic Drew Lynch, country singer Benton Blount and R&B duo The CraigLewis Band all advanced to the finals.

Bluegrass ensemble Mountain Faith Band, motocross stunt team Metal Mulisha Fitz Army, puppet act Ira, 12-year-old opera singer Arielle Baril, dance troupe Siro-A and R&B singer Samantha Johnson were sent home.

Here’s a rundown of Wednesday’s action:

Motocross stunt team Metal Mulisha Fitz Army, magician Derek Hughes and bluegrass group Mountain Faith Band were the first acts to learn their fates. Hughes moves on to the finals. Stern offered this strategy for Hughes moving forward: Take the strongest moment he ever had on stage and “slam us with it.”

Puppet act Ira, 12-year-old opera singer Arielle Baril and mentalist Oz Pearlman were called to the front of the stage next. Pearlman advanced to the finals. Mel B noted Pearlman “wows us every time,” and urged him to just continue doing that.

The next acts Cannon called to the front of the stage were dance troupe Siro-A and stuttering comedian Drew Lynch. Lynch moves on to the finals. Mandel told the aspiring funnyman, “If laughter is the best medicine, America has just made you their pharmacist and they’re gonna pay you a million dollars for the medication."

Earlier in the show, Cannon revealed that R&B duo The CraigLewis Band and singers Benton Blount and Samantha Johnson were the acts with the three lowest vote totals and gave viewers a chance to save one of them with the "Dunkin’ Save." America picked Blount to advance to the finals.

The judges then got to decide which of the remaining two acts would advance. Heidi and Mel B picked Johnson. Stern and Mandel picked The CraigLewis Band. The tie-breaker went to the act with the most viewer votes, which was The CragLewis Band.

The evening also featured magic from the cast of the Broadway show The Illusionists.

America’s Got Talent continues Tuesday at 8 p.m. Eastern time on NBC.

Eliot Lee Hazel/RCA Records(LOS ANGELES) -- Earlier this week, Chris Brown was sued by a college student who was shot at a California nightclub where Brown was performing back in January. However, the singer's publicists have denied Brown's involvement in the tragic incident.

"It is a poor reflection of our society that violence is so prevalent and it is always a tragedy when someone is physically harmed," Brown's rep said in a statement, quoted by HipHopWired. "However this is a completely frivolous lawsuit. We expect that the case will be dismissed."

The singer's team says it is also putting a stop to Brown being unfairly targeted in future lawsuits. "[I]n future, to avoid these reoccurring meritless lawsuits directed at Chris Brown, we plan to seek damages from all parties and their lawyers," the statement continues.

As previously reported, 22-year-old Paul Briley was shot in the foot at the Fiesta nightclub January 11 in San Jose, CA. He was one of five people who was wounded by gunfire. In his suit, he claims he suffered nerve damage. He is seeking medical expenses and damages in his suit.

Timothy White/E!(LOS ANGELES) -- Kylie Jenner turns 18 Monday, but she's been celebrating all weekend.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star kicked off the festivities by volunteering at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and toasted her big day with friends and family Sunday night.

"MY GIRLS. party night. #18@12," she captioned a group shot she posted Sunday, which included sister Kendall and father, Caitlyn.

Kourtney, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, along with Caitlyn and Kendall Jenner, were all on hand to ring in the teenager's big birthday, as was Kim Kardashian's husband, Kanye West.

There were plenty of gifts to be had, too. Kylie was the lucky recipient of a luxe Hermès bag, which she bragged about on Instagram, and, according to video posed on TMZ, a Ferrari from her boyfriend, rapper Tyga.

Sony/Screen Gems(LONDON) -- How did Idris Elba respond to James Bond author Anthony Horowitz’s statement that he’s “too street” to play 007? He just kept smiling.

Horowitz recently told Britain’s Daily Mail, "For me, Idris Elba is a bit too rough to play the part. It’s not a colour issue. I think he is probably a bit too 'street' for Bond. Is it a question of being suave? Yeah."

The comment resulted in backlash against Horowitz on social media, and he subsequently issued an apology.

It seems Elba himself didn’t take it all too seriously. The British actor posted on Instagram a screenshot of an article regarding Horowitz’s remarks, accompanied by a positive message. “Always Keep Smiling!! It takes no energy and never hurts!  Learned that from the Street!!  #septemberstillloveyou,” he wrote.

In his apology, Horowitz said he was “mortified to have caused offence.” He explained that he was thinking of Elba’s gritty detective role in the BBC series Luther when he made the “street” remark.

ABC/Todd Wawrychuk(NEW YORK) -- Just how big a producer is Shonda Rimes? Big enough that an epic group photo of the casts from her biggest shows is being featured in Entertainment Weekly, Essence, and People.

The casts of ABC's Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder and Grey's Anatomy -- 33 people in all -- shuttled into the Jewel Suite at the New York Palace earlier this year to shoot the photo, featuring every series regular from the ABC Thank God It's Thursday line-up.

The cast members appear in black, white and even navy blue, while Rhimes herself stands out in the center of the shot in a red dress, flanked by leading ladies Kerry Washington, Viola Davis and Ellen Pompeo.

Each series returns to ABC for #TGIT Thursday, Sept. 24.

ABC/Adam Taylor(NEW YORK) -- Andy Grammer will be one of several singers competing this season on ABC's Dancing with the Stars, along with Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, R&B legend Chaka Khan, and reality star, talk show host and singer Tamar Braxton.  Andy says he feels his late mom would've wanted him to do the show, and he's dancing, in part, to honor her memory and feel close to her.

Andy posted a photo on Facebook of him as a kid, dancing with his mom, Kathryn, who died of breast cancer several years ago.  He wrote, "When I performed 'Honey, I'm Good' on Dancing with the Stars last season, it was obviously exciting and a thrill, but there was something extra and deeper about being there. Anyone who knew my mother, knows she LOVED dance. Anytime it came on the TV her eyes would light up and would get lost in the screen. I remember countless times sitting with her and listening to her say, 'My one regret in life is that I wish I had been a dancer.'"

Andy continues, "If you have lost someone close in your life, you know that it can be tough to stay/feel connected to those who pass on. Maybe you hear a song and it reminds you of them, or every time you eat a certain dish you feel their presence somehow. These things become really important in ways others might not understand. All I can say is that when I went in to do a rehearsal for DWTS last season, I was overcome with emotion and just barely kept my s**t together. She would have completely lost her mind to sit front row at Dancing With The Stars and I could feel that in my chest loud and clear."

"So this one is for you mom. I don't know how to dance, but I'm pretty sure that wherever you are it's going to make you very happy to see me try. I miss you, I love you, and I will be stretching my hammies to make you proud," he finished. "Game on."

As for his chances on the show, Andy tells Billboard, "There is no doubt about it. I don’t know how to dance and I don’t have any extra flexible skills. There is going to be a lot of molding."  But, he adds, "I still think I got a shot.”  He's paired with pro Alison Holker.

Andy will fit Dancing with the Stars in his touring schedule, according to Billboard, and he tells the publication he hopes to dance on the show to his new single, “Good to Be Alive.”  That track will appear on a new deluxe re-release of Andy's album Magazines or Novels, due November 6.

Peter Kramer/NBC(LOS ANGELES) -- Avril Lavigne and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger have called it quits after two years of marriage. Avril officially announced their separation on Instagram Wednesday.

"It is with a heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today," she writes alongside a photo of them on their wedding day. "Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we've created many unforgettable moments. We are still and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other. To all our family, friends and fans, thank you sincerely for the support."

There were rumors that the couple was headed for divorce last year, but those claims were denied at the time. Earlier this year, Avril credited Chad with helping her through her battle with Lyme disease. The two had also reportedly just purchased a French-style California estate together.

The Canadian artists had been married since July 2013.

ABC/Ida Mae Astute(NEW YORK) -- The full cast of season 21 of ABC's Dancing with the Stars has finally been revealed. Don't Be Tardy star Kim Zolciak, singer Chaka Khan, jockey Victor Espinoza, and Bindi Irwin, the daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter star Steve Irwin, are among the celebrity contestants. They told ABC Radio why they decided to compete for the Mirrorball trophy.

"I've been asked a few times before to do the show," Zolciak explained. "[But] I just had had a baby or I'm filming Don't Be Tardy. This year the timing is perfect, and I'm excited. I'm up for a challenge. I'm not one that really can dance so it's a challenge. It's something new, fun. I'm super excited."

Khan, whose career has spanned four decades, said she joined the dance competition because she's "done everything else! You know, I thought why not? It'd be something new and interesting."

Espinoza is trying to repeat the success he's had as a jockey, riding Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, but admitted dancing is a bit out of his element. "I mean, it's different, something that I've never done before. And honestly, I've watched that show before and I was making fun of all the one's that starred [before] and look where I am!" Espinoza said, with a laugh. "Everyone's gonna make fun of me now."

Irwin isn't focusing on the competition -- right now, she told ABC Radio she's enjoying the camaraderie. "It is a real team effort and being able to work with such beautiful people; we're this huge family," she said. "It's not really that we're competing against each other. We're kind of just working together to achieve greatness to do the best job we can."

"This is such a new journey for me. I'm a girl from Australia, who lives in the middle of a zoo, trying to spread my message of wildlife and conservation," she added.

Also on Dancing with the Stars are husband and wife Carlos and Alexa PenaVega. The celebrity couple admitted it may be hard to turn off the competition at home, but explained why it was worth the risk.

"It's such a blessing that we can do it together because it's very taxing on the body and on any relationship. Because you're constantly in rehearsal, you're spending so much time away from your other half," said Carlos. "So the fact that she's next door and I can pop into rehearsal, it's amazing! And I know what's she going through. So I think having this experience and doing it together, and it's something we can share with our kids in the future; that was a big reason why we were like let's do this! Let's do it together."

Judges Julianne Hough, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba also will return to Dancing with the Stars. However, as previously announced, Len Goodman is sitting out this season.  Host Tom Bergeron told ABC Radio reports that Goodman is "leaving the show have been greatly exaggerated -- [it's] just for the fall."  So why is Goodman sitting out this season?

"That was because of the incredible burden really of judging the show in England, which Bruno still will be doing," explained Bergeron.  "Then he and Bruno in past seasons would fly all the way from London [to judge Strictly Come Dancing, the U.K. version of Dancing with the Stars] to the States, to L.A., do our show then fly right back to London. So Len decided he needed a break from that, but we have every hope that he'll back with us in the Spring..."

A rep for Goodman added he's taking time off due to the recent birth of his grandson. The show will feature guest judges in his place, though he's Goodman expected to pop up now and then this season.

Season 21 of Dancing with the Stars, co-hosted by Bergeron and Erin Andrews, premieres Sept. 14, on ABC at 8 p.m. Eastern.
