Tim McGraw Says He Feels Bad About Swatting at Fan During Concert

ABC/Eric Gebhart(LOS ANGELES) -- Tim McGraw doesn't feel good about swatting a fan at his show last week, but the country megastar said it's time to move on.

"I reacted in an instinctive, defensive way from my perspective of what was going on," he told ET Canada Sunday. "I think it was an unfortunate situation, I think, all the way around. But it happened. It happened in a split second. It was pure instinctive reaction. I think you just got to move on."

A video posted to TMZ early last week shows the singer walking into the crowd to sing to his fans. When one grabbed at his pants, he waved his hand to get the fan off.

His rep told ABC News after the incident that McGraw "instinctively swatted" the fan away so that his jeans wouldn't rip.

McGraw, 47, told ET Canada, "It is one of those things that happen, nobody feels good about it, but there’s nothing that could be done about it. You are in that position, you are out there, you are vulnerable, things happen and sometimes you react. There’s nothing to be said about it."

McGraw is in the middle of an international tour, which runs until November.

Ex-Flight Attendant Reveals Celebrity Gossip in First Class

iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) -- For many travelers flying in coach, the only glimpse of first class they will ever get is a peek between the curtains dividing each airplane cabin. But now, a former flight attendant is pulling back the drapes with a memoir featuring gasp-worthy in-flight antics and celebrity gossip.

In his new book Confessions of a Qantas Flight Attendant: True Tales and Gossip from the Galley, Owen Beddall, who worked as a flight attendant for Qantas Airways for 12 years, shares how he was able to cozy up with A-listers on long-haul flights, as well as the less glamorous aspects of hospitality at 40,000 feet.

"People think it's all flying mattresses and shagging," Beddall told ABC News. "They don't realize it's a really manual job, that you're pushing 190-pound carts in a tilting plane with screaming babies and screaming people and lactose-intolerant vegans telling you their dietary needs at the last minute. You're a priest, a security guard, a nurse. There are so many different roles tucked into one."

Beddall made the transition from flight attendant to author after suffering a work-related spinal injury.

"During a training session, I fell down the stairs of a 747 and broke my back," he said. "So I went from this carefree lifestyle of a flight attendant traveling all over the world to an office job and taking on a corporation [for compensation]. I joked that the first version of my book should have been called Confessions of the Satanic Verses because it was so dark."

But eventually, after a few rewrites, Beddall was able to shift focus to some of the more fabulous experiences he had in first class hobnobbing with high rollers.

"I would say the most in-depth conversation I ever had with a celebrity was with Katy Perry," said Beddall, who was granted permission by her and other stars mentioned in the book to share his anecdotes. "She and Russell Brand came on as a surprise, because usually there is a lot of fanfare, and they were very amorous and lovely together. I remember saying to him, 'Clearly this is a very physical relationship,' and he gave me a wry smile."

Beddall said that after most of the other passengers had fallen asleep, Perry was unable to snooze and asked if he would stay up with her. They chatted at length about music and writing.

"I told her I liked to write in my spare time and she gave me a lot of advice on getting an agent, social media and how to run things as a business -- and I thought for someone so young she had her head so squarely on her shoulders," he said. "Although, I do have to say, at the end of the flight, I said, 'How long are you going to be in the United Kingdom for?' And she said, 'Oh, no, I'm going to London, England.' So that was very funny."

Pop artists were par for the course on Qantas flights, according to the memoir.

"Lily Allen was probably my all-time favorite," said Beddall. "She was actually sitting in business class, but she screamed 'celebrity' and, 'Don't you know who I am?' So I listened to her music and invited her up to first class. There, she got lashed up on cocktails, we did some facials together and had a very girly chat on the flight."

Afterward, Beddall admitted to worrying that Allen's overindulgence might come back to haunt him.

"I gave her all of this Dom [Perignon] and I thought, 'Oh great, they are taking pictures of her getting off the plane and I'm going to get in trouble.' But she actually blogged about me and the experience in a travel column not long after and it was very special."

But while some A-listers like Cate Blanchett, who arrived "with all of these designer gowns" can come across "like royalty," other famous faces behave strangely, said Beddall.

"There is this famous Aussie supermodel who comes from a very average suburb in Australia," he said. "She speaks English but will pretend not to and would only speak in French on flights. She would speak to her suitor in French and he would translate to us and then tell her what we said and we knew that she spoke English."

Why "Pawn Stars" Star Corey Harrison Lost 192 Pounds

ABC News(NEW YORK) -- At 210 pounds, Corey Harrison is looking and feeling better than ever.

The Pawn Stars star, once nicknamed "Big Hoss," dropped nearly 200 pounds after learning that he was pre-diabetic three years ago.

"Literally, I'm driving home from the doctor's office kind of freaked out about it and I see the place where they do lap band [surgeries] and I just pulled in and said, 'What does it take to have the surgery?'" he told ABC's Good Morning America. "I didn't have much money at the time. I pulled out four credit cards and put it on that and there you go!"

At the time, the History Channel star, now 31, weighed about 400 pounds. However, after having his surgery, he also changed his exercise and eating habits.

"I can only have four to five ounces of food in my stomach," he noted. "When you only have that much space in there, you don't want to fill it up with crap."

Harrison also has a support system in his co-stars, including Austin "Chumlee" Russell. Inspired by Harrison's slim down, he began losing weight too, and is now down 100 pounds.

"Chum kind of thought we were gonna be fat guys together forever or something," joked Harrison. "I'm proud of him. He did it all with diet and exercise...[but] he's the sidekick! Let's not forget that."

Zendaya Coleman Explains Exit from Aaliyah Biopic

ABC/Richard Harbaugh(NEW YORK) -- Zendaya Coleman opened up about her recent exit from the upcoming Aaliyah biopic.

The 17-year-old Disney star posted several videos on Instagram Friday explaining why she backed out of Lifetime’s Aaliyah: Princess of R&B.

“Let me just explain something,” she said in the first of three videos. “The reason why I chose not to do the Aaliyah movie had nothing to do with the haters or people telling me that I couldn’t do it, I wasn’t talented enough, or I wasn’t black enough. It had absolutely nothing to do with that.”

The Shake It Up star was cast to play the late R&B singer in June but dropped out of the part weeks later amid widespread criticism over her casting. Some complained Coleman, who is biracial, was too fair-skinned for the role. Others questioned whether the singer-dancer-actress had the maturity to play the 22-year-old Aaliyah, who was once linked to R. Kelly and died in a plane crash at the height of her popularity in 2001.

But Coleman, who was the runner-up on Season 16 of Dancing with the Stars, said she left because of concerns over the production.

“The main reasons were the production value wasn’t there, there were complications with the music rights, and I just felt like it wasn’t being handled delicately considering the situation,” Coleman said in the second clip. “I tried my best to reach out to the family on my own and I wrote a letter, but, I was unable to do so. Therefore, I felt not really morally okay with moving forward with the project.”

Instead, Nickelodeon star Alexandra Shipp will replace Coleman in the role. Talk host Wendy Williams, who is executive producing the TV movie, made the announcement on Twitter and her show Friday.

Coleman sent her best wishes to Shipp.

“Congratulations to the new woman playing Aaliyah,” Coleman she said in her final video. “I only hope that she does not have to deal with half the hate that I had to deal with. Remember that we are all human beings trying to do what we love to do. Let’s practice motivation and love, not discrimination and hate.”

Elle Macpherson Reveals Her Beauty Tips and Tricks

Photo by Stuart C. Wilson/Getty Images(NEW YORK) --  Supermodel Elle Macpherson has graced the cover of countless magazines, including a record five times on Sports Illustrated.

Now 50, the model who became known as "the body" is showing that she's still got it: On Tuesday, Macpherson tweeted a photo of herself looking lean and toned in a bikini.

ABC News' Sara Haines asked Macpherson about her beauty tips and tricks.

"You know, when you laugh it changes everything -- it changes your spirit and the way people receive you," Macpherson said.

She added that she prefers an "alkaline diet" consisting mostly of "vegetables, a little bit of fish, not much protein, no coffee, alcohol."

The 6-foot-tall Australian also swears by exfoliating, moisturizing every day and sleeping for at least eight hours.

"One of the biggest beauty tips -- and I know it's a cliché -- is I drink three liters of water a day," she said.

As for her workout regimen? Macpherson said she does not go to the gym.

"I'm Australian and I've always done a lot of sport, whether it be surfing or running or hiking, road biking…it's not really just about making sure you look thin but it's actually that you enjoy doing," she said.

In addition to her storied modeling career, Macpherson is a businesswoman and designer. She has just launched a new line of intimates called "The Body" with retailer JCPenney.

Macpherson said she is designing the line for "every woman."

"I think today women choose lingerie because...it's about feeling feminine, feeling sexy and feeling comfortable in your body," she said.

George Clooney Discusses Feud with "Daily Mail"

ABC/Randy Holmes(NEW YORK) -- George Clooney couldn't resist gloating when it came to discussing how he got the Daily Mail to apologize to him.

Clooney told Variety on Friday, "It's just fun to slap those bad guys every once in a while, knock 'em around."

The Daily Mail published a story earlier this month claiming that Clooney's future mother-in-law objected to his upcoming marriage to Amal Alamuddin for religious reasons. However, the British tabloid pulled the article and apologized after Clooney wrote an op-ed in USA Today saying the article was completely fabricated.

Clooney said he doesn't go after every tabloid for every false story, but this time he felt a line was crossed. He explained, "That's why you pick your fights at a tabloid. Every day they write things that aren't true, but every once in a while they write something that is actually dangerous to your family, and it's probably not true. And that’s the one you pick."

He said of the Daily Mail, "I would sit with my friends and we'd just go, 'So they just sat at a computer and just went, "OK, this is what I'm gonna say today.'" I mean, literally, because you just go, 'there isn't literally an element of truth in this.' You just laugh, and let it go. I'm used to it after all these years. But the thing that bothers me is how much the Daily Mail is now bleeding into American press and becoming a source for some pretty legitimate newspapers. So that’s the thing that worries me."

Though the Daily Mail issued an apology, Clooney refused to accept its mea culpa, writing in a second USA Today op-ed piece the report was a "premeditated lie."

On a happier note, Clooney offered Variety this thought on his engagement: "I'm marrying up."

"Treme" Star Rob Brown Settles Racial Profiling Suit Against Macy's, New York City

iStock Editorial/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) -- Rob Brown, best known for his role as trumpet player Delmond Lambreaux on the HBO series Treme, is settling his racial profiling lawsuits against Macy's and the City of New York, according to the New York Daily News.

In court papers obtained by the newspaper, Manhattan Federal Judge Lorna Schofield writes, “The court has been informed that the parties have reached a settlement in principle.”

The 30-year-old actor claimed he was handcuffed, “paraded” through the Macy’s flagship store in New York City's Herald Square, and detained in June of last year after being accused of using a fake credit card to buy his mother a $1,300 watch.

In his complaint, Brown alleged false imprisonment, negligent training and civil rights violations. He was seeking unspecified money damages and a court order forcing Macy’s and the NYPD to stop the alleged practice of targeting minorities who shop at high-end stores.

A spokeswoman for Macy’s tells the Daily News, “The lawsuits by various plaintiffs who alleged racial profiling by Macy’s have been settled in principle. We are making no further comment.”

The spokeswoman adds, “Our company strictly prohibits discrimination of any kind and has zero tolerance for racial profiling.”

A lawyer for the city says, “A settlement has been reached in principle, but the details are still being finalized.”

Brown’s lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, confirmed the report, but declined to comment on the terms of the settlement.

Actor James Garner Dead at 86

Mark Mainz/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- James Garner, the actor who helped re-define the western and detective genres on television, died Saturday at his California home. He was 86.

Garner first gained fame in the late 1950s on the TV comedy series Maverick. At a time when traditional Westerns were a staple of primetime TV fare, Garner's wisecracking Bret Maverick -- a gambler who'd rather run than fight but who could outdraw most gunfighters -- was a tremendous hit, and made Garner a star.

Garner left Maverick after three seasons and built a film career, starring in both comedies and dramas, including the classic 1963 war drama The Great Escape and two hit romantic comedies opposite Doris Day.

In 1974, Garner returned to television in the comedy-drama The Rockford Files. Garner's take on Jim Rockford, a Los Angeles detective who lived with his father in a run-down mobile home and drove a Pontiac Firebird, was an even bigger hit than Maverick, airing for six seasons and earning Garner a best actor Emmy in 1977. Like Maverick did with Westerns, The Rockford Files in many ways redefined the TV private detective show, and paved the way for similar hits, such as Magnum P.I.

Garner continued to switch between TV and film in his later years, and was nominated for an Oscar in 1985 for starring opposite Sally Field in the romantic comedy Murphy’s Romance.

His later films included 1994's Maverick, with Mel Gibson playing the title role and Garner starring as his father.

Garner also appeared in 2000's Space Cowboys opposite Clint Eastwood, 2004's The Notebook, and had a role on the TV sitcom 8 Simple Rules.

Garner's autobiography, The Garner Files: A Memoir, was published in 2011. In 2005, Garner received the Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award.

Adam Levine Marries Supermodel Behati Prinsloo

Stephen Lovekin/Getty Images for The Weinstein Company(LOS ANGELES) -- It's official -- Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo are married.

The rocker tied the knot with the Victoria's Secret model on Saturday at Flora Farms in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, according to E! News.

Prinsloo's bridesmaids included fellow model Coco Rocha, according to E! News. In lieu of gifts, the couple asked that guests donate to Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.

They'll spend their honeymoon in South Africa, reports E! News.

After dating a slew of supermodels before Prinsloo, the Maroon 5 frontman and The Voice coach popped the question last July in Los Angeles.

Earlier this summer, Levine told Live with Kelly and Michael that he got a little "woozy" when he asked Prinsloo to be his wife.

"You can't be confident about it," he said. "I'm a confident person, but I got on that knee and everything changed immediately."

He said he even lost his balance and got down on both knees, not just one.

Prinsloo said "yes" and maybe it was because of the ring Levine picked out for her.

"[The ring is] from the 1930s. It's vintage and he picked it out," the model told ABC News last year.

Levine, 35, and Prinsloo, 25, started dating in 2012.

"American Ninja Warrior" Finalist Kacy Catanzaro Is Shocked By Fame

Peter Larsen/NBC(NEW YORK) -- After becoming the first woman to make the finals of American Ninja Warrior, Kacy Catanzaro became a celebrity almost overnight.

Nobody was more surprised than she was.

"I had no idea how many people would care so much about it," she told People. "I'm getting messages from my friends saying telling me that I am trending on Facebook and Twitter and that my video has 4 million views. It's amazing. My followers have skyrocketed 30,000 plus more in just a couple of days."

Catanzaro, who appeared on the show once before, blew away viewers by mastering each obstacle of the show's grueling course. Though she doesn't know what the finals have in store, she feels ready for whatever comes her way.

"The ring toss was something new this year and it was definitely a challenge, but I just took it slow and tried to stay calm," she explained of her strategy. "I just kept going and tried to stay calm and it was really helpful. I believed in myself and went for it."

No matter what happens in the future, the lifelong gymnast is happy to have inspired so many fans with her performance thus far.

"Being able to get the opportunity to be in that spotlight and put such a positive message out has been so amazing," she said. "It was a surreal moment."

Casey Kasem's Body Is Missing, Daughter Says

Michael Tullberg/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- The late Casey Kasem's body is missing, more than a month after the radio icon's death, according to his daughter.

A spokesperson for Kerri Kasem confirmed to ABC News that the legend's adult children have yet to see his body. Casey Kasem died on June 15 at 82 years old after suffering from a form of dementia. An autopsy has also not been performed yet, the family said.

Jean Kasem, the radio personality's second wife, had been embroiled in a conflict with his children from a previous marriage over her husband's medical care for months before he died. She collected the body within 72 hours of his death.

Kerri Kasem was informed Thursday that Casey Kasem's body was no longer at the mortuary, where it remained for a month.

Kerri and two more of Kasem's adult children fought Jean in court for control of his health care leading up to his death. Early last month, a judge ruled that his care would be in the control of Kerri, not Jean. Shortly after, he was moved to hospice.

"This is the most difficult decision that a judge or an attorney can make. Mr. Kasem is dying and Mr. Kasem has expressed his desire to die peacefully and in comfort," Troy Martin, an attorney for Kerri Kasem told ABC News in June.

A rep for Jean Kasem has yet to respond to a request for comment.
