Join City Park Players for The 39 Steps by Patrick Barlow and John Buchan to be performed Thursdays through Sundays from October 1 to 11 at the Hearn Stage of the Kress Theatre. Thursday through Saturday performances begin at 7:30 PM, and Sunday matinees begin at 2:30 PM.
Jule Kane: Paper Bullets
Julie Kane, a recent Louisiana State Poet Laureate, will be introducing her new book, Paper Bullets, at the second Cavanaugh Lecture of the Fall 2015 series.

Kisatchie National Forest
Ouiskey Chitto Trail in Kisatchie National Forest. This is a trail from 4 to 9 miles depending on how folks want to hike it. Part is along the scenic Ouiskey Chitto stream. There are options to camp at Fullerton Lake Friday or Saturday nights and make an additional two mile, short hike through the ruins of what was the largest pine sawmill west of the Mississippi River in the 1920’s.

IDIYA is a makerspace, workshop and design studio that provides members access to education, tools, and a creative community in the interest of fostering innovation in fabricators, hobbyists, artists, entrepreneurs and DIY’ers.

The fair grounds are located on Hwy 71 South next to the State Evacuation Shelter, 8125 Hwy 71 South right past the LSU-A campus. This year thanks to LSU-A the fair will have 1,320 extra parking spaces available to our fair-goers.

Taking It 2 The Street
Taking It 2 The Street has a new date and time! It’s the tour and fantastic entertainment that you know and love with a new twist – Taking It 2 The Street during Third Thursday on Third!
The tour will begin at Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center and will include performances by Daughters of Scheherazade, SNAZZ, and KALB Meteorologist Carl Rippy! Hosted by Dan Forest, the tour will highlight the history of downtown, as well as detail all of the fun Third Thursday on Third activities!
United Way Wild Cook-Off

Join us for the 15th Annual United Way Wild Cook-Off. Enjoy music and drinks while sampling great BBQ, Ribs, Cajun and Wild Game dishes. Each category will have a winner decided by our panel of judges, and we also have a People’s Choice Award voted on by the tips each team receives from the community.

Fall ArtWalk features over 80 art, craft, and food vendors in a fun, family-friendly environment. A wide variety of items will be available, including stained glass, pottery, handmade jewelry, original paintings, crochet, hand-carved marble, quilting, and more. Delicious food and drink will be available from 2 Reign Catering, O.L.S. Cookie Jar, Big Ace Burritos, Jack’s, and others. Performances by SNAZZ, the Desert Jewels, the Cenla Brass Band, DV8, and many more will rock the Mini-Park Stage from 4 PM – 9 PM. In addition, the Alexandria Museum of Art will lead the beautiful “Be the Light” Luminary Procession at 7:30 PM. Fall ArtWalk has something for everyone to enjoy!
