Music notes: Taylor Swift, Benson Boone and more

Footage of Taylor Swift performing "I Knew It, I Knew You" live at Tuesday night's premiere of Toy Story 5 in LA is now available to watch on social media.

Benson Boone has shared a long clip of his new single, "The Time of My Life," which arrives on June 26. In his Instagram post, he sings the song while wearing a tight black lace dress. He tagged influencer Alix Earle in his post, because he was recreating a viral video in which she was seen dancing to the song on a yacht while wearing a similar dress. There's also a rumor that Alix is in the song's music video.

Bebe Rexha is a New Yorker, so she's going to celebrate the release of her new album, Dirty Blonde, with a one-off free show at New York's Irving Plaza concert venue on Friday. Meanwhile, Variety reports that Bebe's live concert that was supposed to be simulcast to AMC theaters nationwide June 17 has been postponed until later this year. The other concerts in the series have also been postponed. As per Variety, AMC says it's due to a "robust lineup of films and strong advance ticket sales in the weeks ahead."

Sara Bareilles has released the official video for "Home," the first single from her album Good Grief. The clip, featuring Sara walking through beautiful rolling meadows, was shot in "the coastal hills of my beloved Northern California," as she writes on Instagram.

The video for "Iconic by Mistake" by KATSEYE, LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT is out now. It features all three girl groups clapping back against online trolls. They sing, "Thank you for the comments/ It's because of all your hate/ I-I-I-I-I-I-I am iconic by mistake."

Olivia Rodrigo, 'you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love' (Geffen Records)

Olivia Rodrigo: She's just like us! Specifically, she used to write One Direction fan fiction, which now completely embarrasses her.

YouTube's Instagram account has shared an interview clip of Liv commenting on 1D's video for "Story of My Life."

"This had a choke hold on me when I was younger," she says. "I think I watched this video and started making fan fiction." When an off-camera person asks, "Can you please give us more details on your fan fiction?" Olivia starts talking about it, but then thinks the better of it.

"It was just like, 'Harry holds your hand on the roller coaster and tells you it's gonna be —" and then she stops herself.

"It's so bad," she laughs. "It's so bad."

In other Olivia news, she's announced two LA fan experiences celebrating the Friday release of her new album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. One is called "the park experience" and is described as "a walk in the park, complete with photo ops, interactive moments and much more." It will be available June 11 and June 12-14.

The second one is called "the cure gallery," which is an "immersive gallery experience" of the set of Olivia's video for "the cure." It runs June 12-14.

For both events, American Express card members get early access and other perks.

And finally, we now know which songs from the album will be on the limited-edition 7-inch single that will be sold at Olivia's midnight listening parties: "honeybee" and "cigarette smoke."

Taylor Swift got her VHS 'Toy Story' tape signed by Tom Hanks

When Taylor Swift revealed that she'd written a song for Toy Story 5, she noted that she'd been "a Toy Story kid from the age of 5 til now." And she proved it by showing up to the movie's premiere on Tuesday night with her original VHS tape of Toy Story under her arm.

But she wasn't just carrying it around to prove her fandom; she asked Toy Story star Tom Hanks to autograph it for her. He did, as he told USA Today, and then laughed, "I told her she should have brought in the VHS machine so that we could have signed it, 'cause that could go into the Smithsonian Institute as well."

Separately, Tom told Variety that he had no idea Taylor had a song in the movie until the last moment, when, he said, "They ushered us into a soundproof room and said, 'Tonight, at 9 p.m., the true end titles song is going to drop and it's by Taylor Swift.'"

"And I said, 'You guys kept this from us all this time?' We saw the movie and it did not — we had some dummy [song] in there, so they surprised us as well."

He added, "That's like saying, 'By the way, Judy Garland is singing "Over the Rainbow" at the beginning of this' — that kind of thing."

And while speaking to E! at the premiere, Tom offered the following marriage advice to Taylor and her fiancé, Travis Kelce: "The man must make the waffles on Sunday."

Toy Story 5 arrives June 19.

'KPop Demon Hunters' to celebrate 'Golden' one-year anniversary with special events

'Kpop Demon Hunters' (Courtesy Netflix)

A year ago nobody knew what a HUNTR/X was and nobody had ever heard of Saja Boys. But on June 20, 2025, KPop Demon Hunters took over pop culture, and now Netflix has planned special celebrations for the movie's one-year anniversary.

First, KPop Demon Hunters will return to theaters across the U.S. and the world for anniversary screenings. Check your local listings for a theater near you. Additionally, there will be free outdoor screenings of the sing-along versions of the Oscar-winning film across the U.S. starting June 19 in Salt Lake City. That will be followed by free screenings in Atlanta, San Francisco, San Diego and Brooklyn on June 20; Butte, Montana, and Minneapolis, Minnesota, on June 24; and Cleveland, Ohio, on June 25. A different location in San Diego will host an additional screening on June 26. Visit Tudum.com for full details.

Both Netflix houses — one in Philadelphia and one in Dallas — will offer a full day of fan activities on June 20. There will be screenings all week at the Philly house.

KPop Demon Hunters became the most-watched original title in Netflix history. Its soundtrack dominated the Billboard charts, including the #1 hit "Golden," the first K-pop song in history to win a Grammy Award and the first to win an Academy Award. The film also won the best animated feature film Oscar. The voices of HUNTR/X — EJAE, Rei Ami and Audrey Nuna — have become stars in their own right, performing on TV and at live events, and a KPop Demon Hunters World Tour is coming.

Selena Gomez is in London filming the new season of Only Murders in the Building, and she misses her husband, Benny Blanco. But maybe it would help if she watches the new ad for Jennifer Aniston's haircare line, because they're both in it.

Sharing a carousel of photos of them together, Selena wrote to Benny on Instagram, "distance means so little when someone means so much….@itsbennyblanco mish you bb." Benny wrote in the comments, "I fall more and more in love with you everyday" and "time stands still when i’m in ur arms."

But meanwhile, in a new ad for Jennifer's Lolavie hair care line, Benny unexpectedly shows up at her house so she can do his hair. They walk into another room, only to find Selena sitting there, which also surprises Jen.

"What are you doing here?" Selena asks Benny. "My appointment," Benny explains. Selena says she's there to bring Jen some gifts from her Rare Beauty line.

As Jen attempts to tame Benny's unruly mop of curls, Selena raids Jen's closet and runs out with a couple of blazers. "Is this on the giveaway pile? Cause I see about eight more things," she says. "Take whatever you want," Jen says. Benny, meanwhile, grabs a pair of Jimmy Choo heels for himself.

As they leave Jen's house, the Friends star closes the door in relief and says, "That was so weird."

Someone wrote in the comments, "THIS needs to be a Netflix show!"

Taylor Swift talks 'Toy Story 5' song, performs it at movie's LA premiere

Taylor Swift is sharing new details about the inspiration for "I Knew It, I Knew You," her original song for Toy Story 5.

Swift said in a new interview with ABC News that she was inspired by the journey of Jessie, the beloved cowgirl ragdoll in the animated movie franchise.

"We have seen her go through such heartbreak and such, you know, triumphs and loss and we learned her back story," Swift said in an interview that aired Wednesday on Good Morning America. "But in Toy Story 5, we see such a character development and, really, lessons that I could relate to as she's grown up and as she has learned more about her experiences and her memories."

The singer continued, "Just the feeling that, like, sometimes people's paths diverge, and that doesn't mean that that's the last time that you get to feel those memories or know that person."

When the song was released on June 5, Swift revealed that she collaborated on it with singer-songwriter and producer Jack Antonoff. She shared on social media that they wrote the song with "adoration" for the Toy Story characters that were staples of their childhoods.

Swift performed "I Knew It, I Knew You," for the first time live at the Toy Story 5 world premiere Tuesday night in Los Angeles. She also performed "You've Got a Friend in Me" alongside Randy Newman, the man who wrote and sang Toy Story's signature tune.

Toy Story 5, a Disney and Pixar film, is scheduled to premiere in theaters on Friday, June 19. Swift posed at the film's premiere with its stars, including Joan Cusack, who voices Jessie on the big screen.

The 14-time Grammy winner said that as a longtime Toy Story fan herself, it was a "poignant" moment for her to pen and perform a song for the movie's latest release.

"I watched Toy Story when I was 5 and I've watched every single one of the films so many times," she said. "So I really think that, like, to be able to be welcomed into something that has welcomed me, unknowingly, its entire existence, just as a fan, feels like very poignant for me and for my family."

Katy Perry and her boyfriend Justin Trudeau made their red carpet debut Monday night at the premiere of Katy's concert film Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live in Paris at New York's Tribeca Festival.  Katy posted plenty of photos and footage of the moment on her Instagram, but Justin's own post included a sweet message to her.

On Tuesday afternoon, Justin posted a few photos of himself and Katy on the carpet, and wrote in the caption, "What a special night. Huge energy on screen, huge energy in the audience! So happy to be by your side, Katy."

Katy joked in the comments, "it’s Katheryn to you, baby." Katy's birth name is Katheryn Hudson.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the premiere, Justin said he was excited to see the movie, because it documents Katy's entire Lifetimes Tour set, from start to finish.

"I saw the show three times, but wasn't really paying attention to anything but Katy," he admitted. He laughed, "So I'm looking forward to seeing it tonight, for the first time!"

Katy also spoke to Entertainment Tonight about what it was like taking her daughter Daisy Dove Bloom with her on the tour. Katy said she wanted Daisy to be inspired by watching her mom do her thing in front of 20,000 screaming fans.

"When she gets to see me onstage feeing free and authentic, she's just gonna be a little duplicate copy of me in her own little way, and we'll see what that is, and I'll support her along the way," she said.

Tyla will play a character in a special version of 'Toy Story 5'

'Toy Story 5' (Walt Disney Pictures)

Following Taylor Swift and Bad Bunny, Tyla is the latest Grammy-winning artist to be involved with Toy Story 5. Like Bad Bunny, she's voicing a character in the film, but only in a certain part of the world.

Disney Africa's Instagram account announced that Tyla will play Inflatable Flamingo in the sub-Saharan version of the film, which will be seen in select African countries, including Tyla's home of South Africa.

In a YouTube video that shows her recording her part, Tyla says of being involved in the franchise, "I just couldn't believe that the offer was even presented to me. ... I just grew up watching Toy Story — it's such a big movie in my family. My parents love it, my whole family loves it. ... So the fact that now we get to watch it and hear a little bit of my voice in it is insane."

"I just remember growing up watching it, and trying to peek through a door to see if my toys actually moved," she recalls.

Meanwhile, Taylor has contributed the song "I Knew It, I Knew You" to the soundtrack, while Bad Bunny will voice a character called Pizza with Sunglasses.

Ariana Grande, Ethan Slater call it quits after nearly 3 years of dating

Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater have reportedly ended their relationship, according to People.

The Wicked co-stars have amicably called it quits after nearly three years of dating, according to a source who spoke to People this week.

ABC News reached out to Grande's and Slater's representatives for comment.

Slater and Grande met while working on Wicked, which began filming in December 2022. Grande played Glinda in the film, while Slater played Boq.

The pair were first photographed together at Michelle Yeoh's Oscar party in March 2023, alongside their Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo.

Grande and Slater, both of whom were married previously, were spotted together in public a few times, including in October 2023, when Grande attended Spamalot on Broadway to support Slater, who was appearing in the show.

They appeared to make their relationship Instagram official in November 2024, when they each shared the same behind-the-scenes photo of themselves at the Wicked premiere in Sydney, Australia.

When Grande was nominated for best supporting actress at the Critics Choice Awards in 2025 for her turn as Glinda, Slater spoke with ABC's Good Morning Americaon the carpet about what it was like to see Grande take on the role.

"It's really moving," Slater said at the time. "When somebody's wanted to play a role for so long, something that's meant so much to her, it's meant so much to everyone on the cast, and then everybody had to really go for it and earn these roles and deliver every day on set, I feel immensely proud of Ariana, of Cynthia, of [Jonathan Bailey], of every single person."

Grande is currently on her Eternal Sunshine Tour, which kicked off on June 6, in Oakland, California.

She is expected to make stops across North America in Los Angeles, Austin, New York, Boston, Montreal, and more, before hitting the stage at The O2 in London on Aug. 15 for a multi-show run.

Her upcoming album, petal, will be released July 31.

As the Italian cosmetics brand KIKO Milano moves into the American market, it's tapped one of the world's most famous Italian-Americans as the face of its new campaign.

Madonna is now a brand ambassador for KIKO, and stars in a new campaign, "The KIKO Show."  According to Hypebae, it features The Queen of Pop wearing outfits from her 2006 Confessions Tour wardrobe, mixed with archival Yves Saint-Laurent looks.

KIKO chief brand officer Drew Elliott tells WWD, "KIKO Milano is a powerhouse brand, and it deserves a powerhouse face. Madonna is that person: she has Italian roots; she’s known for reinvention, for boldly being exactly who she is — and, many times, using makeup to do that. She is the KIKO girl.”

How much would you bet on Taylor Swift's wedding?

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift attend the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards on March 26, 2026 in Los Angeles, California. (Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for iHeartRadio)

Would you bet money on Taylor Swift's wedding? Well, thanks to new betting sites that allow you to place bets on practically anything, you can.

According to The New York Times, on the Kalshi betting site users have put over $2 million on the wedding, with the location of the nuptials alone taking in $1.49 million in bets. So far, New York City is the leading pick. Over on Polymarket, people are betting on the guest list, with the leading picks being Selena Gomez, Patrick Mahomes and Gracie Abrams.

A spokesperson for Kalshi told the Times in a statement, "In many ways, prediction markets are becoming another layer of fandom and expression for the superfan.”

But one Swiftie told the Times that it's an invasion of privacy, noting, "I don’t think that you can really call yourself a supporter of an artist if you’re trying to place bets about their personal life."

Sarah Baker Bailey, a professor at Southern Connecticut State University, told the paper she's not surprised that Swifties, who constantly analyze everything Taylor does in an attempt to predict her next move, would gamble on her wedding.

Said Bailey, "If you can pick up patterns and recognize patterns in Taylor’s behavior and the Easter eggs and get really good at thinking through the numerology, then it’s a natural expansion to say, ‘Wait a minute, why don’t I make a little money off of this weird super power?’”

After making 'Daughter From Hell,' Gracie Abrams apologized to her mom

Gracie Abrams, 'Daughter From Hell' (Interscope)

The title of Gracie Abrams' new album, Daughter From Hell, is a reference to herself and the trouble she caused as a young girl. In fact, after she recorded it, she told her mom how sorry she was for her past behavior.

In a new cover story on Gracie, Vogue reports that the singer was "a tornado child who wreaked havoc at home." The new album is partially about that; Gracie says that as she was finishing it, she texted her mother an apology.

"I was like, ‘S***, I really was a terrorist. I really took years off [your life], didn’t I?’" says Gracie. "And she was just like, ‘Absolutely.’”

"I wish I could go back and spend all of the time that I spent fighting my mom just listening to every drop of wisdom she has for me,” notes Gracie. "I feel so aware of how quickly time’s moving right now, and that makes me nervous sometimes.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Gracie talks about her upcoming film debut in the A24 movie Please, which the studio describes as "sexy and romantic," and the director says provokes "something all women she can relate to."

"This wasn’t something I imagined for myself but every time I read the script it stimulates something in me," she says, adding that the movie "sent me down a lot of rabbit holes that were dark and twisty.” It may not be the last movie she makes, and she'd also like to try theater or poetry.

"I think about when I’m 85. If I’m lucky enough to get there, I want to be able to look back and be like, ‘I did that weird thing,’" she tells Vogue. "I want a full life.”

During the premiere of Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour - Live in Paris at New York's Tribeca Festival Monday night, the movie stopped and the screen went black. That, however, didn't stop Katy and her fans from keeping the music going.

Katy, who was sitting in the audience, stood up and exclaimed, "What the f***?" Fans continued singing the song that had been playing in the film, and Katy danced and sang along until the movie resumed about a minute later.

She also stood up and danced during other parts of the film, often joined by audience members, who sang, applauded and even held up their cellphones as if they were actually at the concert. At the end of the film, Katy's tour dancers, who were in attendance, ran onto the stage and danced along to the music playing onscreen.

Overall, the event was one big Katycat big lovefest, both on and off screen. During the post-screening Q&A with music journalist Tomás Mier, Katy revealed, "I am very in love," and referred to her boyfriend, Justin Trudeau, as "the love of my life." The two made their red carpet debut ahead of the screening.

"To have that anchor finally makes me feel really whole now," she said of her relationship.

Katy also described last year as "probably one of the hardest years of my life." Still, she said, "I just kept going" through 91 shows of the tour.

"I'm just trying to give the fans what they deserve," she said, adding, "I know that they work so hard to pay for these tickets ... and I'm gonna give them their money's worth every time."

Katy explained that she made the film so fans in countries the tour didn't visit could still experience the show.

Filmed over two nights in Paris in November 2025, the movie captures the elaborate, hit-packed show in its entirety. It's set to premiere in theaters later this summer.

Music notes: Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift and more

Ariana Grande is getting emotional over the fact that her new single, "hate that i made you love me," has debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. She wrote on Instagram, "thank you all from the bottom of my heart for my tenth number one ! ! ! i simply cannot believe those words. i feel like the most grateful human being alive everyday." She added, "the fierce love and support that you all show is still and will always be unfathomable to me. please just know that there isn’t a day that goes by where i don’t feel it and that it is something that i will never, ever take for granted. i love you and thank you for showing this record such love."

Taylor Swift may well dethrone Ariana from the top spot next week. Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music all reported that she broke streaming records over the weekend with her new Toy Story 5 single, "I Knew It, I Knew You." In the case of Amazon Music, the song had the biggest first 24-hour streaming debut globally for any song on the platform this year. It also broke Apple Music's all-time record for the biggest soundtrack single.

While an *NSYNC song is featured in the musical & Juliet, someone has yet to create a musical based solely around their songs. So what would that look like? When asked by People, JC Chasez suggested a love story called It's Tearing Up My Heart. Joey Fatone suggested, "You could do No Strings Attached but it's all about puppets," which prompted JC to add that it could be "a reimagination of Pinocchio."
